Azuma is simply the finest Japanese restaurant in Sydney!!
A big statement i know but you just HAVE to try it to believe it. The quality of the sashimi & sushi is out of this world, so fresh it literally melts in your mouth & sends you instantly to heaven.
the presentation of all the dishes is as good as the food itself, you almost are afraid to ruin a work of art by eating it. The restaurant & main dining area itself are contemporary and welcoming, you will be surround by unique Japanese artwork, plates & pottery. They also have private rooms & seating for large parties & events.
The service (as you would expect) is second to none & you are made to feel like a VIP by all staff from the very minute you arrive.
Obviously this very high standard of food & service does not come cheap, expect to pay for it but i 100% guarantee its worth it.
Hope you enjoy the pics,
Summer In Australia = BBQ Food!!
One of the best things about living here in Sydney is the summer time BBQ, whether you are at the beach, a public park or even in your own back yard with family & friends, there is nothing quite like it.
Stay away from the traditional cheap super market sausages & thin burgers when possible, its totally worth spending a little more to go to a butcher’s to get real quality meat. Cook a variety of Ingredients too, i love to cook Fish, Lamb chops, whole joints of steak, chicken wings & even chicken hearts & Kangaroo.
It is now the season to get outdoors & get grilling so please, if you only do one thing this summer, celebrate some beautiful weather with a kick ass BBQ!!
Hope you enjoy my pictures
The Meat & Wine Co..
There are a lot of good things to say about this place, for example the Wine is good, the steaks are good, presentation is good, the service is good, but unfortunately nothing was as great as the price tag would suggest!
The best thing about the restaurant was the view of Darling Harbour at night which is stunning!! Specially when combined with a free firework show every Saturday.
The restaurant had a massive face lift recently and is well laid out. It has a good view of the food being prepared & cooked but when compared with similar restaurants in Sydney which offer a similar service the quality falls short I’m afraid.
I believe the restaurant is aimed more at attracting tourists rather than locals or regular diners which could be part of reason it fell short for me but it worked well enough for its target market!
Hope you enjoy the pictures.
Breakfast is Important, Its no Yoke!!
Here are a few ”Egg-samples” of some of my favourite breakfast ingredients…. Eggs!
Eggs, avocado & tomatoes make an awesome breakfast when combined, all you need is a little salt & pepper (and maybe a touch of fresh Basil) to season & you are done my friend!!
To cook the truly perfect boiled (Runny) egg, heat a pan of water till boiling, place room temp eggs in the pan & boil for 6 minuets, take off the heat & immediately place in ice cold water to stop the egg from cooking! This will give you the perfect boiled smooth runny eggs!! Mmmm
Enjoy my breakfast as i do every morning
Welcome to Makoto,
Makoto offers some of the best sushi in Sydney’s CBD i have tasted, i frequent here at least once a fortnight. The Sashimi is fantastically fresh & tastes great.
The selection of Udon’s are also great and range from Beef, Chicken, seafood & tempura, all of which are good but my faveroite is the beef.
I always leave here satisfied & carrying a “sushi baby” in my belly :)
The staff are very friendly, helpful and polite as are the chef’s who provide a great interaction with guests.
You must go!!!
Din Tai Fung,
Some of the best steamed dumplings & fried chicken you can get in Sydney i believe & The open viewing kitchen looks more like a science lab than a place to cook or prepare food, this is a bit of a spectacle with locals & tourist alike which brings me to my only negative point, the 2 hour wait to eat.. but hey, its all about the food right :)
The pics are from my faveroite combination & i have them very often (in fact i may be going again tonight)
Enjoy, Jonny :)
Introducing Ichiban Boshi,
Boshi is awesome, especially if you want quick, great & surprisingly cheap Japanese food, I Love it!
Staff are always polite, friendly & know the menu back to front.
This Ramen is called “Very Hot Ramen” with Karaage Chicken & is fantastic, i have it regularly as it packs a punch & has heaps of fresh flavours.
You will never leave Boshi hungry… if you do, you’ve done it wrong ;)
Rockpool… Not sure what else to say other than "Simply Mind Blowing"
The steak was perfection! It was Wagyu Beef & 9+ Marble scored which is the highest score in Australia, The best way to experience the tenderness & flavour of Wagyu beef is to have the steak is medium rare. This allows the fat to warm & melt in your mouth with the muscle & gives you a velvety rich texture.
The starter was Pork Belly & Calamari with caramelized onions & the Profiteroles were both great as well.
I washed all this down with a Fantastic 2002 french Pinot Noir from Bordeaux.
Rockpool offers the very best of dining experiences (unless you are a vegetarian) everything from the surroundings to service to the food are second to none & if not the best one of the best restaurants in Sydney its gets my vote every time, you have to go to really believe the hype!!
Neil Perry i salute you sir!!
